Default Books on everything you wanted to do with your GUI

I'm revisiting Java to try and alleviate a deficiency that I have with the language. So, please forgive any mistakes that I make in trying to do this. (I don't want to read a ton of Amazon comments on various Java books to do this.)

My question is: What good books will give me the knowledge that I, obviously am lacking, on common GUI developement but not in the basic java language? What series of books can do this for me?

Why do you like your book or books?

I'd like something maybe that at least starts me on the right path where I can go to the Internet to find specific results. A book that just contains a listing of the various APIs with a description maybe.

    Thank You,
    Mike

Since I haven't received any valuable replies to my original question, I've decided to try and rephase the question, here goes.

Question: I'd like to invest in a book (or series of books) describing all the packages and classes available through Java. Something as little as a table with an attached description of the class or package would be sufficient for me.

Basically, I have a desire to learn something beyond the packages and classes described in most books such as ArrayList and List. ArrayList and List are easy, I want a lot more if not all the classes and packages commonly available to most developers.

    Thank you,
    Mike

While you are waiting, take a look at the tutorial: https://docs.oracle.com/javase/tutor...ybigindex.html
If you don't understand my answer, don't ignore it, ask a question.
