    Does setVisible() work? What is wrong with using that?

    Can you post a small simple program that compiles, executes and shows your problem?

    The best option is not to open and close multiple windows. If you have to do this, better to have one main window be the JFrame and open and close dialog windows such as JDialogs.

    oke,

    i put a JPanel to a JDialog. On the JPanel there is a Jbutton.
    How can i close the jDialog when i put on de butten in on the JPanel?

    ClassDateLayout dl = new ClassDateLayout();
    dl.setVisible(true);
    JDialog test = new JDialog();

    test.getContentPane().add(dl);
    test.setVisible(true);
    test.pack();

    Call one of the class's methods.
