How to make a good looking game grid in swing?
Hello everyone, I'm making a battleship game, and I need to make a grid like in the image. But what's the best way to make a 2D grid like that, I tried a lot of things but I don't find a way it really looks like the image.

I am behind a firewall that blocks image sharing sites like that. It's probably better to describe what you're going for and what you've tried, preferably in the form of an SSCCE.
