What do you mean by "text editor"? An external program? A JTextArea? Something else? And what do you mean by "current cursor"? Do you mean the mouse pointer, or the blinking cursor where text is entered?
What have you tried? Where are you stuck? You've have better luck if you posted an SSCCE demonstrating what you're talking about.
