Hello there, sorry for the late reply.
The only tip I can give you is to read the SCJP 6 book if thats the one you are planning on take. I did that book with a couple of colleagues and we sat down a couple of hours a week and went through a chapter at a time to iron out any issues we had. Towards the end we did mock exams only.
I think that towards the end or maybe even during your whole study period you should do mock exams.
