Would probably depend on the type of college, the course and
the level he was going for. If your talking about an interview for an
actual Job in Java - again, the range of questions he would be asked
are not directly something anyone but the interviewers would be able
to know.
When I applied for a Job a few years back at (now defunct) Team Bondi, the
broad range of questions involved 'what my general knowledge of C programming was',
'what I can do very well', 'what I have limitations in', 'what my team working skills are',
'what my project managed skills are', 'what my favoured IDE is and why', 'am I experienced in
other languages than just C'.
I did get shortlisted for another interview but unfortunately nothing came back from it, but
the experience of getting that far was pretty cool. If you are not aware who Team Bondi were,
they developed the video game L.A Noire (2011) one of the generations top selling video games
which used never-used before facial animation.

Interview is the most important part of the employment process. You have to make good general impression and show good knowledge to prove to have enough skills to be a part of the team. Every time people are worried about dress code, experience and practical skills, job requirements and, of course, questions they will be asked.
If you are trying to get a job of as a java developer you must be ready for theoretical part of the interview and practical one. No need to worry about your technical interview you can get best online java training as well as interview question preparations from the JanBask Training.
