It depends on your learning style, you maybe a visual learner, so graphical contents or video lectures would be good for you. If you are an audio learner, you can grasp either concepts with listening lectures only or with verbal discussions. If you like to read books, books on the java would be good for you. You are good learner, if you are a good at googling. You may start with simple project, you can find it on youtube or on many blogs on the internet. Just understand the goal of your project, and find the solution on the google(like; how to create a login page in java, how to create password validator in java, how to convert from one data-type to other etc.), gradually you will gaining knowledge and understanding the concepts of the language.
