Default need help in major project

    Hello guys,
I am a final year student of engineering in computer science.
Within the preceding 2 days, I am required to submit a project title for my major project.
Though I have decided to use java technology for it,I have no clue about any topic i can work on.
Plus, i am confused whether to go for a desktop based application or a mobile application.
    please people, help me out.
    All ideas are welcome.
    Thanks in advance.

Please do not post the same question twice to the forums...your other post has been removed.

My general advice is to make something that you'd find useful (or entertaining). Probably not a lot of help I know, but when you create projects that are useful to you, it puts a bit more incentive in there to do it right, and you've got something you can use in the end as opposed to a project that ends the moment you turn it in. So I guess it comes down to thinking hard about things you can automate to solve a problem, fill a niche, or automate a task.
