    Default Need Help To Open This Software

    Hi, first of all, thank you for accepting me here.
    Can someone help point me to correct Java version for this software please? I'm a end user not a programmer.
    There is a photo here state that it runs on JAva 6.0.190.4
    I tried Google but can't get the correct one.

    I try to post the url of the files but not allowed. How to attached here also I don't know.
    Is the Comm3JDBC.9 (Executable Jar File) is the correct software to launch?

    Sorry if I ask dumb questions.

    What software are you trying to open? What OS are you on?
    What kind of file(s) do you have?
    What documentation did you get with the software?

    Hi, initially i tried to attach all files here but unable. Also tried to paste url also not allowed.
    So this time i try again. The file is in this folder. It is a GUI of a robotic system. https://drive.google.com/drive/folde...ph?usp=sharing
    Please help me to open it. As I said, there is an image in the folder stated that the software can be open using JAVA 6.0.190.4
    I need to install that version and where can I find it?
    The software run on Win XP/Win7

    You can download the java runtime environment from the Oracle site:
    https://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp

    Download the version 8 which will be able to execute the java version 6 files
    I do not know where java version 6 is available for download.

    Once it is installed, open a command prompt window and enter the command:
    java -jar TheJarFilename.jar

    Replace TheJarFilename.jar with the name of your jar file.

    Sorry, just noticed the operating system is still Win XP 32bit. So the Java 8 doesn't has 32 bit version.

    Tried on the command prompt:
    C> java -jar Comm3JDBC.9.jar

    but not working. I place all the files inside C drive also.

    Do I need to Install the JAVA in just C instead of C>Program Folder?

    Please copy the contents of the command prompt window and paste it here so I can see any error messages.

    To copy the contents of the command prompt window:
    Click on Icon in upper left corner
    Select Edit
    Select 'Select All' - The selection will show
    Click in upper left again
    Select Edit and click 'Copy'

    Paste here.

    It looks like you are not able to enter a correct command in the command prompt window.
    Instead of having the long path to the jar file, use the CD command to move the command prompt window to the folder that holds the jar file and then enter:
    java -jar TheJarFilenameHere.jar

    To copy the contents of the command prompt window:
    Click on Icon in upper left corner
    Select Edit
    Select 'Select All' - The selection will show
    Click in upper left again
    Select Edit and click 'Copy'

    Ok, now you are making some progress. With the error messages I can see what is happening.
    The error:
    java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: javax/comm/SerialPortEventListener
    is because there is a class file missing: SerialPortEventListener
    Usually class files are kept in a jar file.
    Are there other jar files in the project that might contain that class file?

    When you find the missing jar file, use this command to make it available to your program:
    java -cp OtherJarFile.jar;Comm3JDBC.9.jar SurfaceCU
