Webcam api
can anyone suggest me a good java api for interaction with webcams... I wanted the api so that i could build an application which transmits webcam stream from one pc to another pc using socket programming.... and also can anyone please give me any hints on how i can transmit the webcam video using the socket program

Sarxos looks like a good API. It's active and there is a sample for Transcoding to a h264 stream you could pretty much just copy. It's probably worth while checking out Javacv as well.

What APIs are available for getting a stream from the webcam?
Can you write a program that will write to a stream that goes out through a socket connection?
Can the output from the webcam be sent through that stream?
