Thread moved from the java questions forum, as this seems specific to the forums as opposed to java.
My recommendation: don't try to edit or delete within a reasonable time after posting. These are public forums meant to learn - both yourself and others. Delete or edit posts after a reasonable amount of time and you defeat this entire purpose. Also note that edits by member can be reverted by moderators, if there seems reasonable means to do so.
