Default Can I use J Grasp instead of JDK 7?

I already have J Grasp on my computer as a java compiler. Is it okay to use that or textpad?
Thanks in advance for your help. I appreciate it!

JGrasp is an IDE, not a compiler (unless of course, it comes with its own compiler - personally never used it). If you are beginner, I'd recommend ditching the IDE and using a text editor - this will help you become familiar with many important concepts (compiler options, jar packaging, packages, etc...) that are hidden by using an IDE
