In matlab, if you create an array you can actually open up that array in a spreadsheet and manipulate its entries by using that spreadsheet.
Can you do that in eclipse?

How is this question related to java?
If you don't understand my answer, don't ignore it, ask a question.
Because I am using eclipse, a development environment which uses java. I'm a beginner to java, and I just assumed that someone who knows java is also knows how to use eclipse.
I don't use any of the big/slow IDEs for java.

Eclipse is a fancy source code editor. Don't tell people you're using Eclipse unless it's relevant. In this case it's not.
I think you want to know if the data from a spreadsheet can be collected by a Java program into a collection of some kind - maybe an array - and used in a Java application for further computations or as needed. Try searching for something like that and/or clarifying your question from a Java programming perspective.
