If you mouse over (don't press any buttons, just place your cursor on the lined out portion), Eclipse will usually explain why the code has been lined out.
Eclipse has an excellent Wiki and other resources to help you learn how to use your IDE.
Depends on your configuration for syntax highlighting. I think the standard is that these methods are deprecated, but I also think they would be italic in that case so I am not quite sure.
I believe it is because the method calls are deprecated and eclipse is putting a line through them to show you you shouldn't be using them.
