I suggest you Google for client/server code. There are loads of examples out there.
There are several ways you can have the server check for a file. If the server is on a Windows machine, you could setup a scheduled task for a certain time each day.
Get some code together, see if you can make a simple client/server work and post back. We can take it from there..

but is/are there any class(es) in the standard java library that offers ssh connection capabilities? many of the code I see are using other libraries.
