JDK = Java Development Kit, its what you need if you intend to write and compile programs using Java.
JRE= Java Runtime Edition, this is what everyone needs in order to run a Java program.
JVM = Java Virtual Machine, it comes with the JRE and is used to run the programs. Whenever you run a Java program the JVM starts up and interprets the byte code which was created as you compiled your program.
