How could I create this programm: If you start it, a loop tells something (say every 5 seconds) until you type in 'stop'.
The problem is, if I type in .nextLine(); it checks every time the loop repeats.
Is there a way to sovle this?

Is this a GUI app or does it use the console? It will work better as a GUI where you can use threads to control the looping and the I/O. If the program tries to read from the console, nothing can be written to the console until the user enters something. One solution might be to use JOptionPanes to display messages.
If you don't understand my answer, don't ignore it, ask a question.
It's only console. Thanks, I'll try to use JOptionPanes.
