Hi I was wondering how I can create a button in Jframe, one to start a game one for help and one to exit. For each button, if you click it, it starts the specified action. How do I do that?

If you don't understand my answer, don't ignore it, ask a question.
You need to create ActionListeners. Basically, these listeners will be attached to your buttons, and when they're pressed, the code provided in the listener class will be executed. For example, when you say:
//You create a new button JButton button = new JButton(); //later, you create your listener: class listener implements ActionListener { public void ActionPerformed (ActionEvent event) { //do something here System.out.println("I was clicked"); } } //then, you'd create a new listener object, and THEN add it to your button: ActionListener listen = new listener(); button.addActionListener(listener);
Using this basic structure, you'd be able to add any kind of effect to a button/checkbox.
