    Default Easiest transition from VBA?

I've done a fair bit of programming in the past in VBA for MS Office, Access, and in Solidworks.

I'm now starting on Java, using it mainly for an Android app.

Can anyone recommend a book or site for this specific transition? i think the first things i need to know about are how to establish variables and those sorts of language-specific things that will stop me as soon as i start.

or, let me know if there isn't anything specific to this transition, but general resources that would be useful.
