    Trying to learn Java by using Eclipse. Well trying learn both.

    Welcome! Yes, many maintain that learning both the IDE and the language at the same time causes confusion and ultimately slows down the progress of both. Plus, the IDE will do "things" behind the scenes that will cause the new learner to struggle down the road, but those challenges can be overcome fairly easily.
