Thread: Just joined - quick introduction

Hi everyone - just joined the forum and thought I'd say hello. I'm long time technology professional and enthusiast, and started working with computers in elementary back in early 70's with BASIC on a PDP/8 using a teletype and punch tape.

In my day job I do software and network architecture, design, and implementation for telecom systems. After hours I work on a variety of personal projects - both hardware and software related, and volunteer as a moderator and code maintainer at CodeRanch.

I really enjoy expanding my technical base, and like helping others whenever they get stuck doing the same. I often try to help with problem where I have little or no expertise and use it as an opportunity to learn something new.
