    Cool Greetings!

    Hello All,

Just introducing myself here on the forum. I've been looking for a good Java forum to join and this one has looked the most promising so here I am.

I've been programming for the last 6 years. I started teaching myself C/C++ then I moved on to Java. I've also picked up some x86 Assembly and Python over the years. I love programming and do it regularly as a hobby as well as doing some side work in computer repair (hard & soft-ware). I love not only programming but also building and fixing computers and have accumulated quite a collection of them over the years.

I'm currently a physics student at a leading university here in the US. I've taken a few Computer Science classes over the past couple years - which were very informative from a theory perspective - but I enjoy solving programming problems from my own practical approach to the subject.

My favorite area in the computer and programming field centers on security. I enjoy hacking (though not illegal hacking) as well as the area of cryptography. I hope that one day I may find myself working for a computer security firm doing things such as penetration testing and security auditing.

I hope that I can help many people here on the forum and that on the occaisions when I find myself stuck with a Java task, that others can do the same for myself.

I hope to meet and help a lot of you and hope you guys can help me as well!

    Cheers!

    Hello Ellipsis,

Welcome to the Java Programming Forums It's good to have you here.

You sound similar to myself. I love programming but also enjoy fixing and building computers.
I used to run a security website around 9 years ago which really got me interested in programming.
I still like to follow the security scene today.

I'm sure you will learn lots from our members. Enjoy the site.
