Default Restrict web application access using IP address(es)

    Hi,

I want to restrict my web app access by IP address(es), it should be accessible only by domain name.
I have gone through this 'http://www.freewebmasterhelp.com/tutorials/htaccess/2' but not able to figure out where to put .htaccess file.

I am deploying my web app war to Apache tomcat.

    Please help me.

    Regards,
    Shareef

A .htaccess file is for Apache web server, as far as I know Tomcat does not use this file. What you would need is to have your apache web server serve tomcat files through a proxy, or have some other way in which to ban ip addresses through tomcat
