Thread: Newbie question, simple program

My assignment was simply to see if this program would compile. It does. But going further, I wanted to run it. I get the error message "Error: Main method not found in class Clock, please define the main method as: public static void main(String[] args)". While I appreciate its polite tone, I cannot see anything wrong with the code (as I do have a main method defined). Can you point me in the right direction?

class Clock {
   String time; 
   void setTime(String t) {
      time = t;
   }
 
   String getTime() {
      return time;
   }
}
 
class ClockTestDrive {
   public static void main(String [] args) {   
      Clock c = new Clock();
 
	  c.setTime("1245");
	  String tod = c.getTime();
	  System.out.println("time: " + tod);
   }
}

You're trying to run class Clock. Do your run on class ClockTestDrive and it works just fine. You have to run the class with the main function.
