Is there anyway to fill a shape (Rectangle2D, Ellipse, etc.) with parallel lines (or other line-based texture) which shows what lies beneath the shape (a picture, other shape, etc.)?

Filling a Shape with lines
Is there anyway to fill a shape (Rectangle2D, Ellipse, etc.) with parallel lines (or other line-based texture) which shows what lies beneath the shape (a picture, other shape, etc.)?

Not sure what you are doing. If you draw a shape and then draw something over the top of some of that shape, the part that was not drawn over will be visible.
