Are you wanting to know about how to make those kinds of arrow buttons? BasicArrowButton (Java Platform SE 7 )
You can change the content of the other stuff by the click of a button by using ActionListener just like you would a regular JButton.
I'm afraid I can't be more specific as you've only posted a picture.

You're not going to get help by showing no code and no effort. That said, this feature is extremely simple to implement using JavaFX 2.2. If you're willing to learn the API, then it should be no problem. If you want to see what you can do with JavaFX, go checkout and download the examples found on Oracle's webiste.
