How are you trying to debug the code to see what it is doing?
I use print statements that print messages showing where the code is executing and the values of variables and expressions as it executes. The print out shows what the computer sees when the code is executed and can be used to find the problem.

Is the sorting algorithm correctly coded? Can you add comments to the code describing how it is supposed to work?
If you don't understand my answer, don't ignore it, ask a question.
