    Default for loop sum

    hi, im new here!

    I would like to get some help with a little coding. Imagine a for loop in Intellij from 1 to 39. I need the total sum of every number between 1 to 39. Answer should be 780.

    I just cant figure out how to do this, ive searched for 2 days but no succes. Can someone help me with this?

    thanks. This is my first post, if I did something wrong, id like to apoligize also.

    public class Opdracht_4 {
        public static void main ( String[] arg ) {
            for (Integer x = 1; x <= 39; x++) {

                System.out.println(x);
            }
        }

    }

    Do you know how to write a for loop with an index that starts at 1 and goes to 39? Start with that.
    Then inside the loop add the values of the for loop index to a variable as the loop is executed.

    Can you post the code you are working with?
    Be sure to wrap all posted code with code tags:

    Ok does that loop do what you expect?

    Next you need to add a statement inside the loop that adds the value of x to a variable so the variable will contain the sum of the values in x.
    Declare the variable outside of the loop so that its value will be available after the loop finishes executing and control goes to the next statement following the loop.

    Note: declare x as a primitive data type: int instead of the class Integer to hold the loop variable's values
